A Festival Of Design in Vancouver Design Week – If you follow Covet Group everyday you already know we celebrate design everyday. And today one more celebration begins, Starting today and going trough all week will happen the Vancouver Design week, a 7 day celebration of design in a city wide festival with several design events and experiences. Vancouver Design Week is a collaborative platform, a call to action and an invitation to us all to immerse in design and its transformative potential. It is a city-wide festival that connects and celebrates Vancouver’s creative capital through a week-long program of design events and experiences.
Last year, VDW featured 111 programs and events which explored the theme of “Impact.” Over 7 days, more than 380 designers showcased innovative work, convened workshops and talks, and organized activations and exhibitions to connect with the community. This year, the strategy for VDW is not to grow bigger, but deeper – engaging the designers to co-direct and co-curate a more potent program challenging our thinking and ideas about design.
The Vancouver Design Week is an initiative of Vancouver Design Foundation (VDF) – a non-profit organization which works to further Vancouver region’s design value and impact while helping to define our authentic design identity. They reinforce the city’s design ecosystem and focus on four key areas: social innovation, creativity and culture, the built environment, and public engagement. They deliver partner-funded programs and campaign to raise awareness of the value of design.
