The latest luxury state: a new approach to craftsmanship. Craftsmanship or handmade is an art that has gained more emphasis since the luxury industry started to use it has a marketing strategy luxury state: a new approach to craftsmanship,but the truth is that luxury doesn’t exist without uniqueness, authenticity and mostly, exclusivity and craftsmanship is the main reason we can crave for something unique: because it’s handmade, personalized and only in the world.
If we look to most considered luxury brands, the one thing that makes them stand out it’s not a matter of design per si but craftsmanship and irreverence. This irreverence we can find in names as Bottega Veneta, Gabriela Hearst, Hermés, Boca do Lobo, Richemont, and many others. This brands, recognized for their quality products have craftsmanship as a component of their ADN.
In fact, these brands reinvent themselves every time in a more unique way thanks to craftsmanship. If we look at their past and present we can find that the ability to become timeless comes as a consequence of the craftsmanship that they incorporate in their ADN.
Richemont took it to another level and created Michaelangelo Foundation, a non-profit institution that “celebrates and preserves master craftsmanship and strengthens its connection to the world of design.”
The Luxury Design & Craftsmanship Summit is bringing this entity and also some of the greatest design brands such as Dopio Firma, Topázio, Boca do Lobo and many more to a two-day event organized by Covet Group between the 20th and 21st of June 2018.
